Each finished heart measures approximately 12cm high x 11cm wide (excluding ribbon)

Suitable fabrics to use would be good quality cottons are ideal for these hearts but you could also use soft chambray, gingham or remnants from your soft furnishing projects to make a fully co-ordinated look.

Materials needed to make one heart: 1 piece of fabric approx 30 x 20cms; 30cms of 3mm wide white ribbon; small amount of polyester fibre soft toy filling; small amount of dried lavender (optional); paper or card to print template; matching thread.

Skill level: Beginner/Easy. This project is suitable for anyone with basic sewing skills and experience of a sewing machine.
